I started this painting at about 2:15 on Saturday, and it was sold at the wet paint sale at 4:30. If you can see the price, that was for wet paint, unframed.
One of the first questions people ask me is, "Are you painting anything?" I am frequently left speechless because I cannot produce something that proves the answer to be, "of course!". This past weekend, we had a wet paint sale in Selma, organized for us by Karen Weir and the Selma Art Guild.... Louella Clements, Paige Hodo, Gena Clements, and several others who are also members of the Alabama Plein Air Artists. I sold six paintings! I thought I might come away with some new work to show as proof that I am painting, but it is gone and I am NOT complaining! Many thanks to all of the hard workers in Selma who made it possible for the Alabama Plein Air Artists to sell thousands of dollars worth of paintings at the Saturday wet paint sale!! We love it when this happens. It is great for us and the organizers who get a percentage! It gets the Plein Air Group invited back and welcomed!
Below is an article about me which appeared in the Winter 2012 edition of the Oglethorpe University alumni magazine Carillon. I am particularly proud because they called me and interviewed me, not visa versa. I did not pay for this advertising. It is a wonderful honor. (I received my first college degree from Oglethorpe in Atlanta, majoring in Biology and Chemistry.)
